I remember, as a small child, being unable to breathe. I was told that mother and my sister and myself were sheltering with my Aunt Donna in Sioux City Iowa after my father and mother divorced. I don’t remember much besides falling into darkness and waking in an oxygen tent in the ICU. She brought me a green stuffed dragon 🐉 that became my constant companion for many years. We soon moved and although my memories of her are few, that dragon protected me at night and provided comfort far longer than any poor stuffed dragon should have had to. I have so much appreciation and regret, for not knowing her more.
