Hampton-Dorothy Faulk Watson, 77, passed away on June 20, 2021. Dorothy was born in Elizabeth City, NC and was born to Leslie Alton Faulk and Pearl Ward Faulk.
Dorothy was an entrepreneur having ownership in multiple businesses throughout her life. She started in Watson’s Petroleum in Hampton, became the owner of Subs n Suds on Azalea Garden Road in the late 80s early 90’s. She went on to obtain her Real Estate Broker’s license and opened her own realty company, Rainbow Realty of Virginia Beach, in the 1990s. She was a true fan of bowling and participated in many leagues during her younger years, at Century Lanes in Hampton. She was also a part of the barber shop singing group, Sweet Adelines, where she traveled competing with other groups. She enjoyed travel, line dancing, and most of all her three children and many grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas E. Watson, Jr.; her daughters, Glenda Watson and Tricia Watson Merson and her son-in-law, Glenn W. Merson, Jr. Her grandchildren, Jackie Watson Davis, Linda Marie Neuse, Amy Watson Bryant, Adelina Jewel Newman, Madyson Olyvia Merson and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jocelyn, and Hayden.
A Celebration of life will be held July 10, 2021 at 3130 Nasa drive in Hampton, Virginia from 1:00-5:00 p.m, where her family and friends will gather in her memory. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the Animal Aid Society in Hampton, Virginia at www.animalaidsociety.org or to the Newport News SPCA at peninsulaspca.org
