It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy L. Page, affectionately known as “Dottie,” on May 8, 2025. Dottie was a remarkable woman whose warmth, kindness, and talent touched the lives of many.
Before retiring in 2000, Dottie had a successful career in both real estate and banking. Her professional endeavors were marked by dedication and excellence, attributes that she carried into her personal pursuits as well.
Since 2012, Dottie made her home at Westminster Canterbury, where she became an integral part of the community. She actively participated in three bridge groups, Bunco, and bingo, forming cherished friendships through these social activities. Dottie will be fondly remembered for her delicious culinary creations, which she generously shared with friends, enriching their lives with her unparalleled skill and hospitality.
Dottie’s life was one of resilience and love. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Preston and Alma; her first husband, Carl L. Thomas; her and husband, Daniel Page; daughter, Patricia L. Woolford. Despite these profound losses, she remained a pillar of strength and compassion to her surviving family and friends.
She leaves behind her two children: Kathryn G. Thomas of Virginia Beach, and Christopher L. Thomas and his wife Beth Ann of Massachusetts, along with their children, Joseph and Rebecca and Rebecca’s children, Quincy, Lovell, and Zakai,and Patricia’s son, Taylor, and her stepson, Greg Page and his wife Kay. Her legacy continues through her brothers, Rodney M. Carlson and his wife Joyce, their son Barry and his wife Lori and children Lane and Kate, and her brother Jerold W. Carpenter. In addition, she is survived by relatives across the country and many dear friends at Westminster.
A private service will be held to lay Dottie to rest, honoring her wishes and allowing family and close friends to bid farewell to a beloved mother, sister, and friend. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westminster Canterbury’s Fellowship Fund.
A celebration of life service will be held at Westminster Canterbury on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Her service will be conducted by Rev. Scott Baker Associate Chaplain.
