Dorothy peacefully went to be with the Lord at the age of 67 on October 22, 2020. She worked for the city of Virginia Beach in the Parks and Recreation Dept. and Police Services Dept. She leaves behind her life partner Mark Jannamon, his sister and her good friend Louise , her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Greg and grandson James, her brother Wayne, his wife Donna and their children Wayne, Samantha and Sarah, her brother James, his wife Tina and their children Michael, Lindsey, Hunter and Travis.

Services will be held on November 5, 2020 at 2:00p.m. at Courthouse Community Methodist Church 2708 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Jennifer, i never saw your mom without a smile we go back a long time . Sorry I couldn't make her service we are out of town. As long as you keep her in your heart she will always walk by your side.

My condolences go out to the family and friends of Dorothy. We worked together for many years at Parks and Recreation and I have many fond memories from that time.

I cannot remember a time, all these many years, when I didn’t know Dorothy Freeman. We grew up together and had many grand adventures; at least we thought our pranks were grand. Although we kept in touch mainly through Facebook, I knew Dorothy was happy over the years with Mark by her side. She will be in great company now, painting rainbows in heaven. RIP my dear friend, you will be missed by many. Love always and forever, Debbie
