Dorothy Wend Roth

July 23, 1933 to March 10, 2023

Dorothy Wend Roth went to her eternal home on Friday, March 10, 2023.  She was predeceased by her first husband Hugo Wend, second husband James Roth and daughter Linda Miller; survived by Linda’s husband Brian, son Eric Wend, wife Karen, son Kenneth Wend, and sister Eleanor Meier. She is also survived by her loving second family predeceased daughter Carolyn Naulin, survived by Bellen and Eddie Hamm, Barbara and Jerron Smith. Dorothy’s blended family surrounded her with many blessings and love provided by her 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  Dorothy passed with the comfort of her family and friends around her. She prayed that her family and friends would come to know the peace and comfort of the Lord as she had.

Dorothy was an ordained Presbyterian Elder and an active member of Kings Grant Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, VA. For over 30 years she participated in various church committees, choir, prayer circle groups and delivered meals through the Meals on Wheels program. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, Oma, and friend. Dorothy found joy tending to her garden and preparing delicious meals for those close to her; it was impossible to leave her house hungry.

The family would also like to express its deep appreciation for the Westminster Canterbury Hospice nurses and support staff for their heartfelt compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Union Mission in Norfolk, VA.

Dorothy’s “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Kings Grant Presbyterian Church, 745 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA  23452.
