Douglas Randall Gordon, born 7 May 1948, in Richmond, Virginia died 18 February 2026. His parents were Frederick D. Gordon and Hazel Delaney Gordon of Virginia.
He was tall, dark, handsome and very smart. He graduated from the University of Richmond, followed up by degrees from the University of Utah and the Florida Institute of Technology. In between he spent 4 years as an officer in the US Army primarily stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he met his wife, Sharolyn Hayes of Seattle, Washington. They spent the next 54 years loving, working, traveling and enjoying life. He was employed primarily as a US Government contracting officer for gas and oil services. He and his wife finally retired in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Doug was always a soft spoken “Southern Gentleman”. Most everyone he met or spoke with could see his interest in them and what they had to say. He was a listener…a rare talent. In addition, he was an incredible storyteller with a subtle sense of humor. He is missed by his wife, family and friends.
