We met Doug & Sharolyn back in the early 1980's when us "Army" people were sent to Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque NM. for the next assignment. We became instant friends. Lots of fun dinners together and other adventures. Sharolyn & I always talk on the phone and kept in touch over the years. Doug would come on the phone and remind me of something funny that we did together. He will be truly missed but will Always remain in our hearts and memories.

Doug was a great neighbor even though he was going to bed when I got home from work. A great friend for approximately 40 years.

Doug was a good looking man with a lovely Virginia drawl. But more than that, he was a nice man with a gentle manner and sense of humor. He always made me feel so welcome when I visited. He and Sharolyn were a well matched couple. He was loved and will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I first met Doug & Sharolyn in the midst of my travels around the world. Sharolyn is my first cousin once removed. I had just travelled in February on 30 day train pass on the Via rail system across Canada (from Seattle) and then started my way down the east seaboard and made it to DC where Doug and Sharolyn were living just outside in Alexandria. I was laid up in bed from a sinus infection with 102° when Doug came home from work and perked in to say hello. I stayed with them for a week & recovered with Doug and Sharolyn’s care. From then on I would come on visit and loved the long economics and political discussions Doug and I would have. Also enjoyed helping Doug & Sharolyn complete great puzzles. Will miss Doug greatly!
