It was an honor for me to have studied under Sid Roberts for several classes at the Masters level and to have him as my advisor for PhD research. With his guidance and at the completion of my work at ODU, I was able to make my contribution at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and finally at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. His insight and kindness helped me open doors that would not have been possible otherwise. Thank you, Sid.

Dear Llew, Harold and I were so sorry to read about Sid’s recent death. 63 years is a real accomplishment; we’re at 52 now. I was interested to read about his many and varied activities and achievements. Our daughter Katherine got her M.S. in mechanical engineering from ODU and is now a senior engineer w Jefferson Lab. You and your family have our deepest sympathy in your loss. Sincerely, Rhetta Wilson

Prof. Sid Roberts had a huge impact on establishing the college of engineering at ODU. He will be remembered as a great scholar, a great professor, a great mentor, but more importantly, a wonderful person loved by all who had known him. My sincere condolences to his family whom I have had the pleasure to know for 38 years.
