Earl David Capps
Chesapeake – Earl David Capps, 75, passed away January 16, 2013. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia to the late William and Virginia Capps. Earl was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He was a giving spirit, very hospitable, a wonderful caregiver and most of all a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Earl retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a master wood worker and loved camping. He and Willa were the official dog sitters for the church with daily visits from their neighbor “Mona”. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Willa; son, Timothy and his wife, Alicia Capps; daughter-in-law, Jeri Capps; 13 grandchildren, Heather and her husband Steven Ryan, Earl, Heidi, Ethan, Hannah, Evan, Haven, Harmony, Hope, Hayley, Eli, Joshua and Christa; and great-grandchild, Lydia Page Ryan. Earl is predeceased by his son, Chris. A memorial service will be held, where Earl was a member, at Chesapeake Church of Christ, 1021 Mount Pleasant Rd., Chesapeake, VA 23322 on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2pm. Minister Jerry Reynolds will be conducting the service celebrating Earl’s life. The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and many dear friends for their care and support.
