Eddie Rex Mizelle Sr., 87, of Chesapeake, Virginia, died Thursday, October 5, 2023 in his home. He was born in Bertie County, North Carolina; to the late Joe Cephus and Sarah White Mizelle and was predeceased by his brother Merle Mizelle and sister Earline Pineda. He worked for J.G. Wilson for about 20 years and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 1997 at the age of 62.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Mizelle; 4 children, Terry L. Terry (Matthew), David Jones, Eddie Mizelle Jr. and Samantha Phelps (Waverly); sister, Alease George (TV); brother, Robert Mizelle (Francis); Aunt Lily Raynor; 5 grandchildren and many beloved nieces & nephews.
