Edna G. Harrison passed away February 26, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Edna was born on August 26, 1942 to James and Juanita Gardner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In her earlier years, Edna was a hairstylist and achieved leadership status as an Avon representative. She was also a beloved fixture for over 30 years selling Christmas trees and Halloween pumpkins with the Norfolk Farm Market, all the while running her successful cleaning business.
Edna was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, happy to serve anywhere she was needed. She loved soaking up the sun while working in her flower beds or in her chair reading her books at her favorite place, the beach. Edna was a life long fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, ROLL TIDE!!!
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, James and Juanita Garner, her sons Joseph Richard Hallman and David Boyer, and her brother James R. Walker.
Left to cherish her memory are her adoring husband, James (Jimmy) Lee Harrison, her daughter Sondra F. Lane and son Michael Boyer, her granddaughters Whitney Jean Lane (Jason) and Emily Jo Lane, her sisters Barbara Vandermeer (Cindy) and Dee Dee Davis, and her nephew James Vandermeer (Haley), along with all the various nieces and nephews. Also dear to her heart, her extended family, Sherry and her son Zach Johnson, Owen and Kevin Davis, and Kali and Jonathan Larson.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held on March 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 1601 E. Bayview Blvd. in Norfolk, with a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
