Edna P. Shorter, 87, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 24, 2025. She was born on August 29, 1937 in Virginia to the late Edna Blanche and Milton Pallett, Sr. Also preceding her in death were her brothers: Milton Pallett, Jr., Andrew J. Pallett, and William “Tom” Pallett.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 and a half years, Clyde “CW” Shorter; sons, Clyde Shorter, Jr. (Mary Jean), and Brian Lee Shorter; grandchildren: Nicole Rivera, Franklin “Buddy” Rivera (Amanda), and Tony Rivera (Jayme); great-grandchildren: Ryleigh, Cora, Aubrey, and Emmitt Rivera, and Ava Chaney; sister, Phyllis Hyllberg; sister-in-law, Gladys Pallett; and many extended relatives and friends.

Edna was a member of London Bridge Church for many years. She was devoted to her family and faith above all else. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at London Bridge Church located at 2460 Potters Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. A reception will follow.
