Elizabeth "Nancy" Burnett

October 14, 1933 - December 3, 2017

Passed away December 3, 2017 with family at her side. Nancy was predeceased by her husband William H “Bill” Burnett. She is survived by her 4 children, William H “Bill “Burnett, Anne E. Burnett, Kathryn Burnett Brewer, Timothy F. Burnett, and 6 grandchildren.

Prior to living in Virginia Beach Nancy lived in Caswell Beach, NC. She was an active member of the community in Oak Island, NC. She gave her time to many organizations such as the Senior Center, Ushering and being a member of the LadiesGuild of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

My sincere condolences to the Burnett family for the loss of such a giving woman. Having spent several of my teen years playing HS basketball with her son Bill Jr I was fortunate enough to get to know both Nancy and her late husband Bill Sr. . They graciously invited me into their home, and even on family vacations to their Virginia Beach home during my college summer breaks. To a wonderful woman, may peace be with you in heaven.

Nancy, was a friend and my mother-in-law for almost 40 years. She travelled with is Europe, laughed with us as we moved all over the country, and always welcomed us back to the 19th Hole, her home with Bill! Bill, Laura, John and I will all miss her.

My love to Nancy Burnett's family. She had just a great zest for life and her laughter was infectious. She will be so missed by her children and grandchildren. Nancy had such a full life with her husband Bill Sr.. and I loved knowing them. When my daughter Ellen married their son Bill ll, I felt as if I was part of her family also. them both after ny daughter Ellen married their son Bill, jr.
