Elizabeth S. Burton, born in Norfolk, VA, passed away on March 21, 2011 in Virginia Beach. Survivors include son, Richard L. Newton of VA Beach; sisters Eula Hendrix Hank of Alabama, Mildred Banks of VA Beach, Jean Stapleford of Norfolk, Hester Lawson Joe of Chesapeake and Joe Ann Sawyer of VA Beach; brother Irvin Sawyer of Chesapeake. She was predeceased by husbands Emory L. Newton and Clarence A. Burton; parents Catherine “Katie” and Milton Sawyer; sisters Grace White & Pat McPherson; brothers Bill Sawyer, Milton “Buddy” Sawyer and Jack Sawyer.
