Elljean “Jean” Laura Reynolds Miller of Suffolk, VA passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2024.
Jean was born in New Jersey on March 23, 1929. She resided in Baltimore, Maryland for many years before relocating to Virginia Beach and then to Suffolk to be closer to her daughter.
Jean was an avid football fan devoted to the New York Giants, all through her life. She also supported the Baltimore Colts and attended many games until she relocated to Virginia the same year the Colts left Baltimore. She attended Super Bowl 5 in 1971 watching her Baltimore Colts defeat the Dallas Cowboys.
Jean was a bank teller for many years until she and her husband were blessed with their daughter and she became a homemaker and full time mother. When her daughter started high school, Jean began volunteering at Bayside hospital in Virginia Beach delivering mail to patients and working in medical records. She volunteered for many years until she became a full time caregiver for her mother.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Marie (Ebele) Reynolds; her sister, Dorothy (Reynolds) Coss; brother-in-law. Daniel Coss; sister, Irene (Reynolds) Current; brother-in-law, Donald Current; father-in-law, Ernest Miller and mother-in- law, Naomi (Cooper) Miller.
Jean is survived by her only child, Beth Ann, her son-in-law, Brian, her step-grandchildren, Ainslie and Jack, her brother, Harry Reynolds, sister-in-law, Joan (Weber) Reynolds, sister-in-law, Irene (Miller) Schlindwein, and brother-in-law, Sigfried Schlindwein. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
