On 11/20/14 at 9:45am, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went home to be with the Lord.
Elmer D. Faust, 93, was born in Frankfort, IN on 5/21/21. He was a Retired USN Chief Petty Officer musician and Navy Band Conductor. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict and was proud to have served on 14 US Naval vessels. He was also privileged to be a part of a program USS Canberra where the Navy Band played to dignitaries all over the world including President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
After Navy retirement the family moved to Blackwater in Virginia Beach, where a country setting was cherished.
In 2001, he moved to Elizabeth City, NC where he enjoyed his final retirement. A special joy to Elmer was working his rural paper route in Elizabeth City where he made many special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Nellie Faust, his sister Charlene Smith and her husband Charlie; his sister-in-law, Thelma Faust, and his niece Suzie Primavera, and his former wife Alta Lee.
He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughters, Elizabeth Edwards and Roxanna White, sons, Charles and Carl; his grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Janie Hewitt Randy Hewitt, Denise Taylor Tommy Taylor, great grandchildren,
John Thomas Taylor and Randie Hewitt. He is also survived by his sister, Grace Snipes, his brother, Clinton Faust, his nephews Bradford Stewart and Jon Smith and his niece Jonelle Smith.
A memorial service will be held at Pearl Street Pentecostal Church, Elizabeth City, NC. November 25, 2014 at 5:00pm.
