Eric Duane Fairchild, born 1/8/1957, passed away in the hands of his loved ones on 1/25/2021 after a brief illness at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital.
Eric was a lifelong business owner of Fairchild’s Upholstery. His talent in the upholstery business couldn’t be replicated, as he was one of the very best in the business. Often referred to as “The Main Tack Brother”, Eric worked alongside his older brother Tony every day for over 40 years. His loss leaves a huge sadness as the business moves forward. The bond between two brothers will continue with one in spirit, forever unbroken.
Eric was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Emmie Fairchild. Eric is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Anderson, Wanda’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family. They knew him as the amazing Papa E! Additionally, Eric is survived by his brothers, Tony, Mark (Adrienne), Joe (Chris); his nieces and nephews, Nicole, Heather, Colby, John, and Amber; and many great nieces and nephews who knew him as UNCLE E!
Eric was the kindest, most loyal, gentlest soul and was the most entertaining Uncle and Papa E you could find. Guaranteed without doubt you would laugh in his presence. Eric, E-Man, E, Big E, had a flock of friends that will miss him dearly. Eric was a dedicated Washington Redskins fan as well as a Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved football and Nascar! The family would like to thank the staff at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital for their dedicated care.
Due to the current pandemic situation the family will be conducting a celebration of life in Eric’s honor to be determined at a future date. Condolences may be offered at vacremationsociety.com.
