Eugene Bishop, 88, passed away March 14, 2024 in Riverside Doctors Hospital. He was born in Arkansas but raised in Cotton Valley, Louisiana and currently lived in Williamsburg.

At a young age he joined the military and spent 27 years proudly serving our country with the United States Air Force He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and after retirement, he spent 9 years as a civil servant with the Army at Fort Eustis.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Opal McGee and William Henry Bishop; a sister, Eunice; a brother, Otto; his first wife, Joyce; daughter, Catherine Thaxton; and son, Stephen Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Mariann; his step daughter, Karen Knick; and grandson, Nathan.

He will be buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Burial will be private. We wish his soul finds peace in the embrace of God’s eternity secure in the knowledge that he shall be forever loved and remembered.
