Eugenia Flores was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and everybody called her Jeanie. She lived there with Hank Kosky, Millie Kosky and her father James Joseph Kosky. Jeanie then moved to Virginia Beach with the whole family and on her 18th birthday her parents took her out to the NCO club where she met her future husband Fernando Flores. They would later have three children Fernando Flores III, Tina Marie Flores, and James Henry Flores; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In Jeanie and Fernando’s retired ages they spent most of their time with their camper in Shenandoah Valley that’s where they met and made some of their best friends. In North Forks resort, she loved passing time sitting by the fire listening to music and talking with her family and friends. Jeanie had a very kind, gentle soul and always had nice words to say about people even though they may not have had nice words to say about others. She was always a sensible one to talk to. She would let you know what you needed to hear and what you need to know whether you liked it or not. Jeanie wasn’t a very opinionated person but was a very well listener and when she felt the need to let you know something, she didn’t hold her tongue but spoke in a gentle way.
A Celebration of Jeanie’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5033 Rouse Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
