Eula “Honey” Foster McKinnon, 86, passed away at home April 2, 2011.
Eula was born in Moneta, VA on April 15, 1926, daughter of the late John and Annie Foster. She married Lonnie G. McKinnon USN retired 58 years ago. Their eternal love for one another has created a family legacy for future generations.
Having been a Navy wife, Eula called many places home, making each one an adventure. Before retiring to Virginia Beach she was an Executive for Hecht’s at Tyson’s Corner.
In addition to her husband Lon, left to cherish her memory are their children, Mark McKinnon and his wife Nancy; Teresa Stowers and her partner Joe Key; Catherine Dowd and her husband Joseph Dowd. Her grandchildren Ryan Stowers and wife Tammy; Kaitlyn, Mallory and Lee McKinnon; Erin and Taylor Dowd and Great-Grandson Wyatt Stowers will always carry their Grandma Honey in their hearts. Honey also is survived by her beloved sister Beulah Wendelin and brother Charlie Foster.
To celebrate her life, a Memorial Mass will be held at the Naval Air Station Oceana Chapel of the Good Shepherd on Tuesday, April 5th at 1 p.m. with internment at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
