Continue ReadingFlorence “Trudy” (Grimes) Harris, 78, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024. She was born in Pawtucket, RI to the late Joseph and Florence Grimes. Trudy worked as a CNA/caretaker in healthcare, moved on to private duty, and briefly worked for Home Depot.
Trudy was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Ella Harris; brothers: Joseph, Donald, Edward, Alan, and Robert Grimes; and sisters, Jacqueline Martin and Patricia Theroux.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Gary Harris, Sr.; son, Gary Harris, Jr. (Andrea); grandsons, Jake and Nicholas Harris; brother, Richard Grimes, of Cumberland, RI; sisters: Emily Berndt and Anne Kay of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Kathleen Sawka of Cumberland, RI; her supportive cat, Vinny; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Trudy’s name to the cancer society or an animal shelter.
