RET Navy Chief Floyd A. Akers I, 87, born in Odd, WV, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at home. He spent 22 yrs in the Navy, a Veteran of WW II and The Korean War. He also worked 25 yrs in construction. He is survived by his wife, Joan Akers, 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will receive visitors at home on Saturday, 4/16/11 from 3 – 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Navy Weather Service Association Scholarship Program. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.
