As I look back over the events in mom’s life, I realize she was a little woman with great strength of character. I will always be grateful for the lessons she taught by living. While Judy and I were in Bolivia with our children, Stephen and Jennifer, mom would close each letter with Romans 8:34-39. When we came to see her in July, I was reading the passage to her and she began quoting it. We will miss her but I am glad that she had firmly placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her only and all sufficient Saviour. Romans 8:37-39 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Mother made many impressions on me though out my life. One of the first things that struck me was her resilience. No matter what difficult life circumstance came her way she did not give up. She was motivated by her faith and she ever pressed forward. Another trait in Mother's life was that she was never timid or afraid to witness for the Lord. What a testimony to see that little 4ft. 11in. frame stand tall for the Lord Jesus Christ. Mother also had an extremely high respect for the Word of God. Heaven forbide if anyone put something on top of her Bible! She recognized the preciousness of having God's Word in our hands, something that not all people groups have. She also said I made a great cup of coffee! How many of you were told that too so you would make her a cup? LOL and of course my popcorn was the best! Mother always prayed and encouraged us in the ministry, the only parent that consistently did that throught the years! We love and thank her and will ever miss her.
