Frances Teresa Cap, 95, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Frances was born January 24, 1928 to Rosario and Carmela Nocita in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Missouri Valley High School, Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Frances met her future husband, Ernest Cap, at a dance at Creighton University and they were married in Omaha on September 30, 1950. Frances and Ernie moved from Omaha to Orange, California in 1960 where they raised four children and Fran worked as a switchboard operator and later, switchboard supervisor, at St. Joseph Hospital.

In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Frances was predeceased by her daughter, Vicki Guido, and her husband Ernest after 68 years of marriage. Left to cherish her memory are Fran’s sister, Fena Ricceri, children Teresa Walsworth (Stephen Walsworth), Michael Cap (Paticia Squadrito), Katherine Porter (Stephen Porter) and son-in-law Stephen Guido, seven grandchildren (Matthew Walsworth, Ethan Porter, Seth Porter, Daniel Guido, David Guido, Paola Ladigin and Pamela Nieto) and four great grandchildren (Atticus Porter, Gryffin Porter, Jack Ladigin and Summer Ladigin).

Frances will be interred alongside her late husband at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
