Virginia Beach, VA.: Frank Risley Lynn, Jr. passed peacefully away on January 4, 2014. Frank was born in Bristol, PA to Frank Lynn Sr. and Kathryn McBlain on November 28, 1930. His parents preceded him in death. His sister, Betty Clendaniel and Jimmy Lynn also preceded him in death. Siblings to cherish his memory; Bobby Lynn, Carol Roarty and Kathryn Lynn.
Frank honorably served and retired from the United States Coast Guard. Frank enjoyed the military, trains, and traveling to Hawaii.
Survivors: Left to cherish his memory, Wife; Sandra Lynn. Children and their spouses; Kelly Moore, MSgt James Moore Ret, Tammy Kuhn, Christopher Kuhn, Jeffrey Lynn, Rachel Lynn, Scotty Lynn Sr. and Amy Lynn. Grandchildren; Christina Lynn and her Fiancé Jeff Cohen, Jenna Kuhn, Scotty Lynn Jr., Jackson Moore, Erin and Paige Prohowich, Tamakai Lynn, and arrival of new grandchild in April, nieces, nephews and estranged daughter Pamela. Frank was surrounded by his family at his time of death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 12:00 at St. Brides. Episcopal Church 621 N. Sparrow Rd. Chesapeake, VA, 23325. Followed by military honors. Family and Friends will gather in the social hall immediately following the service. Frank’s ashes will be interned at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Foundation, Cancer Society, and St Bride’s Living Memorial Fund. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements. I am proud to say I was a “girlfriend” of Frank’s. I am happy to have been one of the chosen ones. Frank was a wonderful guy. I will carry fond memories of him throughout my life. I still picture him in his security uniform & how he took his job seriously & how he personally cared for those he was looking after. I love the way Frank seems to light up when he sees a child, not to long ago at lunch with him & Sandy he was making silly faces at a child sitting at another table. I love his passion for keeping his family straight and still I am sure you guys will still hear him when you are making decisions. To the Lynn family: I know he had a wonderful life because of all of you, celebrate his life which was well lived.
