Franklin R. Tinkle
Virginia Beach – Franklin R. Tinkle, June 2, 1947 – November 16, 2017.
Frank was born in West Liberty, IA, but lived his adult life in Virginia. He was a Vietnam veteran and a 1973 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. He spent most of his career in Information Technology as a systems analyst and project manager.
He was a wonderful husband of 47 years to Janice and an equally wonderful father to his daughter, Beth Sokol (John), and proud grandfather of Amelia Sokol.
Frank is also survived by his sister, Linda Healy (Ray) and brother, Randall (Toni). He was predeceased by his brother Gary.
Also left to miss his good cheer and bad puns are his mother-in-law, Norris McCormick; brother-in-law, John McCormick (Cindy), and sister-in-law, Judy McCormick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends knew Frank to be a very kind and upbeat person. Even though he had many serious health challenges, he valued every single day of his life.
A celebration of his life will be held at his home Monday, November 20th, at 1 p.m.
