I knew Fred in our Army days. Great soldier- smart, innovative, and always fun. Well Done Fred

In my thoughts Wanda was such a blessed woman to have a husband to love her as fondly as he did!! But, really, he loved everybody!! We were all blessed to have been in the lives of Fred and Wanda Green!! Wanda.. you are left here with your Sandbridge family .... please reach out whenever and for what ever you need! Prayers for comfort ❤️

Fred Greene gave much of his life to public service. First in the military and then service to his community. He was a volunteer EMT on the Sandbridge Rescue Squad and saved many lives! Fred worked hard on the blood drives and organized the Sandbridge “Pig Pickin” every year to raise money for our Sandbridge Fire and Rescue Department raising money to continually upgrade our life saving equipment. He gave much time to helping Sandbridge with the Sandbridge Civic League. He frequented the Baha Restaurant with his best friend Charlie Earp. These two were a couple of pranksters together and fun to watch! We rarely saw one without the other. They also worked together saving lives. One particular story really stands out to me with these two. It was an early spring day when the weather warmed up quickly. A young woman resident of Back Bay decided to get into the canal in her kayak. She was wearing beach attire and was out near the end of of the canal when the wind grew instantly frigid cold again blowing from the north. The poor woman was being blown rapidly out to Shipp’s Bay. She was freezing and had no way to stop the small craft from moving rapidly out to the remote Back Bay area. The wind made a big chop on the bay and the kayak could easily have turned over. Fred and Charlie managed to arrive by boat and pick her up out of the Back Bay, wrapped her in blankets and rushed her back home to get in a hot shower. Then, Fred and Charlie saw her two babies in the living. Fred tearfully told me this story. Now he knew why it was SO important to get this young woman back home safe and sound! I’m sure there were many such stories during his years here. A fine man walked here and everyone who knew Fred Greene knows it! Rest In Peace, Fred!

Fred was such an inspiration to myself and Sandbridge Realty. We had so much fun putting together the golf tournaments and Fred played a major role in doing so. Fred was always so helpful to Sandbridge he will be truly missed. I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing him. Jim Moffat

A wonderful kind man. Always had a smile for everyone he met! Many years of dedicated service to Sandbridge. He is missed by many!

Fred will definitely be missed! Prayers to all of his family and friends. Fred made everything he touched something special. The many things he did for Sandbridge, The Pig Picking, The Sandbridge Rescue Squad, The Civic League can be matched by no one. We will cherish our many dinners, parties and evenings spent on the beach together. Save us a spot on the beach in Heaven!
