Gary Venson Skipper passed away on April 30, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born to Oliver Venson Skipper Jr. and Zell Oneal Noles in LaGrange Georgia. His younger brother Donald Lewis Skipper passed in 2010 in LaGrange, Georgia. He is survived by three children: Mark Venson Skipper, Saskia Christina Skipper-Colonna, and Nikki Skipper- Zamiskie and eight grandchildren.
Gary served his country in the US Navy from 1966-1986, during the Vietnam war. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate Chief from his long military career. After the military, he continued in Aviation Maintenance and Management for large corporate airlines until his second civil retirement as a Supervisor of Line Maintenance Control in 1998 from Piedmont / US Airways.
Gary was full of so much love for his children and grandchildren. Not a day went by without them knowing that. In keeping with his legacy, we will continue to love one another and pass it on for many generations. Daddy, we love you and you will be missed daily, WE LOVE YOU MORE….
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia at 500 Court Street Portsmouth, Virginia.
