Gene Edward Andrews passed away Sunday February 27, 2022 at his home in Wake, Virginia. Gene was born in Richmond and is preceded in death by his father, August Lee Andrews; mother, Frances Virginia Felton Andrews; brother, James Andrews; and sister-in-law, Eva Andrews of Chesterfield. Gene was a retired Master Mechanic in Richmond and retired to Wake, Virginia where he loved to fish on his pride and joy, his boat, the Sly Fox. Gene had a long career in racing late model cars. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Deltaville fire department for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Bennett Andrews of 28 Years of Wake Virginia; son, Gene Edward Andrews II and his wife, Michelle Andrews; granddaughter, Kylie-Marie Andrews of Lilburn Georgia; numerous nephews and nieces; and many, many friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 12, 2022 at the Deltaville Firehouse, 17150 General Puller Hwy, Deltaville, VA 23043 at 11:30 am.
