Our beloved Geoffrey Charles Spivey entered life eternal on Saturday, July 8, 2023, following a brief illness. All of his life Geoffrey remained a bright, passionate, and witty person. He loved spending time with family and was always up for a competitive game of cards. He was generous, supporting causes with anonymous gifts, not seeking to gain praise for himself. He was thoughtful, kind, and always ready to make a friend.
Geoffrey was honest in his core beliefs, never backing down from defending them. He always spoke his truth and shared his voice. He continues to live on in us all and will forever be missed by those he left behind. In his life, he was a man who showed others the importance of family, friends, and of striving for goals. We are all so proud of Geoffrey’s many accomplishments. Geoffrey remains in our hearts as someone who taught us to live each day to its fullest.
Geoffrey Spivey was born October 18,1988 and raised in Virginia Beach. He graduated from Kellam High School in 2007 and attended Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree. Geoffrey was employed as a finance director for a national company, where he strove to provide the best service and sought to continue his growth.
All those who knew Geoffrey cannot doubt his love for those close to him. His family and friends were paramount to him. From childhood, he always enjoyed being surrounded by those he cared about. Geoffrey, with his charismatic nature, made any gathering more lively, fun, and entertaining. He truly loved to celebrate life in general and especially the lives of those around him. Left to cherish Geoffrey’s memory are his parents, Charles L. Spivey and Kathleen M. Inman; his brother, Patrick A. Spivey and his fiancé Haley E. Carter; and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His life is and always will be celebrated.
A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 22nd at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 3201 Edinburgh Drive, Virginia Beach, VA, 23452. All are invited to attend a celebration of life reception in the Parish Hall following the service.
