Glen Haden Null, 86, of Hayes, Virginia, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 5, 2024.
Glen was born in War, West Virginia on February 14, 1938, to Arthur and Myrtle (Vanover) Null. The family moved to Bristol, Tennessee, where Glen spent the majority of his childhood with his siblings. It was in Bristol where he met his wife Nancy, and they were married in 1968. Together, they moved to Newport News, Virginia in 1973, where they raised two children and built a life together.
Fondly known by his friends as “Rabbit”, Glen never met a stranger, and was always quick to show you a picture of his “pride and joy.” He enjoyed being the life of the party, and never missed an opportunity to challenge you to a game of pool, share a cold Budweiser, tell a joke, or show you his moves on the dance floor. Glen loved the sun, and took advantage of every opportunity to put the Hawaiian Tropic (SPF Zero) to the test while cruising in his many convertibles.
Glen is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Nancy, his daughters Courtney (Scotty) of Hayes, Virginia, Cari Magolski (Dan) of Neenah, Wisconsin, his son Tony (Dawn), of New Kent, Virginia, sister-in-law, Betty, eight nieces, Pam, Angie, Robin, Sherry, Susan, Denise, Darlene, and Dixie, one nephew, Philip, seven grandchildren, Isaac, Autumn, Dalton, Reese, Hannah, Leah and Justin, and three great grandchildren, Lilly, Ace, and Eli..
Glen was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Myrtle, sisters, Shirley, Vera, Reva, Freda, brother, Cecil, and nephew, Jeff.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Riverside Health Hospice Care by clicking here or Abingdon Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
