I am saddened by Gloria's passing, but what a beautiful, rich, and full life she led. She had the most amazing gift of kindness and always welcomed anyone she perceived to have a need for an ear or a hug. I was an odd little girl who always seemed to be drawn to adults rather than other children, and since few girls were in our neighborhood, I often found myself chatting with Gloria on her front porch. Her love was palpable, and I felt it. Though I know she must have tired of me, she never sent me away. Thank you to all her boys for sharing her with me. I know her beautiful smile and spirit are lighting heaven now.

Growing up two doors down from Gene and Jerry gave me the wonderful joy of being fed, schooled, disciplined, and not very often, sent home by Mrs. Alley. She was such a positive force in the neighborhood…everyone adored her…and I have never forgotten her. My preteen days were so much richer thanks to this amazing lady.

I have such fond memories of Gloria. I worked with her for many years at Virginia Beeach parks and recreation. She so loved "her seniors" and she was so amazing with them. she was such a beautiful woman inside and out.

Been friends with the Alley family since 4th grade at Thalia. Ms Alley was always gracious, even when hosting the basketball team after games. A true lady. My heart goes out to the boys.

Gloria was a ray of sunshine and the epitome of grace. One of the best decisions we ever made at VB P&R was hiring her parttime (at first) to help with the senior citizens program. They absolutely loved her and she was such a pleasure to work with. Her boys were her shining lights - even with their occasional acts of mischief. The heavens are certainly brighter with His newest star.
