Grace Josephine Brogan, born March 18, 1931, in New York City, NY, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 95.
In 1942 at the age of 11, Grace’s family moved from New York to Virginia Beach. In April of 1955 she married Edward Brogan and they were married 59 years until his passing in 2014.
Grace dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, cherishing every moment shared with her loved ones. She also spent some time working in retail with LaVogue clothing retail, where her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Grace was known for her exceptional culinary skills, particularly her beloved Italian dishes. With a creative flair in the kitchen, she could transform any leftovers into a delightful soup, providing comfort and joy to all who dined at her table.
A faithful member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Grace found solace and community within its welcoming walls. She sang in the Church choir for many years and performed solos on Good Friday for many years. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, offering strength and peace to her and her family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Patrick Brogan, and her parents, Charles and Jennie Caruana. Grace’s legacy lives on through her children, Edward “Chuck” Charles Brogan, Christine (Christy) Ann Geer and her husband Kevin, Gina Brogan, and Mark Joseph Brogan. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Matthew Geer, Brian Geer (wife Jill), Ryan Brogan, Kyle Brogan, and Tyler Brogan—and eight adored great-grandchildren—Henry, William, Phillip, Nora, Jane, Andrew, Lucy and Barron. She is also survived by her sisters, Bridget South and Gloria Pucillo and many nieces and nephews.
Grace’s Celebration of Life mass will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 @11 a.m at Star of the Sea Catholic Church where Grace will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Edward Brogan.
