Harold C. Sandifer

Virginia Beach – Harold C. Sandifer Sandy 64, passed August 2, 2012 at home with his wife, Ginny and dog Susie by his side. Sandy was born in New London, Conn and is predeceased by his parents, Harold & Elizabeth Szaraz Sandifer and sister, Victoria L. Sandifer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years Ginny, and son Matthew, father-in-law Bob Hauck, sister-in-law Janis Mark Myers and nephew Justin Hawks, cousins Don Nancy Wright & Jerry Rosemary Wright, Connie Szaraz & Sam Iacone. Sandy graduated from Augusta Military Academy, served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Civil Service. He liked to putter around his yard and tend to his garden. Sandy was an avid reader of history books, a civil war buff and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Sandy wished to thank the VA Oncology group and Dr. David Woods and staff for taking such good care of him. Also, many thanks to the Sentara Hospice group, our neighbors and special friends for all their help and moral support. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 17 from 6-9 p.m. at 1687 Meredith Rd, VA Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
