Harry James Blizzard

February 18, 1951 - June 4, 2024

Harry J. Blizzard, 73, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. He was born to the late Isaiah and Thelma Blizzard in Newport News, Virginia. He attended Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Huntington High School as Salutatorian in his class of 1968. After graduating high school with honors, he furthered his education at William and Mary College, where he received a Bachelor degree in English with a full scholarship.

Harry was very intelligent and quiet. He had a gentle soul and loved to share his wisdom. He enjoyed singing, watching game shows, documentaries, and history channels, solving puzzles, and other means to keep his mind sharp.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lenora Mitchell, Lillie Blizzard, Rosalind Blair, Mary Lewis, and Elaine Bryant; brothers, Aaron Blizzard, John Blizzard, Isaiah Blizzard Jr., and Ernest Blizzard.

Left to cherish his memories are his nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Harry will truly be missed.

It is with deep sadness to read about Harry’s passing..Harry was a very loving, compassionate and friendly co-worker..he was always willing to help us on our cases when we needed extra help..he always had that smile that drew many towards hm..will always cherish our memories..deepest condolences to his family🙏💔

I remember Harry from Huntington High School and as an in law to my aunt Rose. Harry was bright and kind. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Blizzard family. 💜🙏

I've been knowing Harry every sense i was a young child. He was my second cousin. He was a very nice and intelligent man. He was also a very sweet man. Talking to him, you could pick up on how intelligent he was. Condolences to the Blizzard family. May God be with you doing this time of sorrow.
