She was married to Heinz Belka and immigrated to the United States in 1952. She is survived by her son, Alfred Belka and his wife, Donna, and grandchildren, Karl Belka and Gina Belka. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Heinz and her daughter, Brigette Belka. Helen loved nature, from mountains to the ocean, and appreciated and cared for animals of all kinds from her beloved dachshunds, to the neighborhood birds and raccoons. She loved her home in Virginia Beach, and her family would like to thank her special friends, neighbors, aides, Pastors and parishioners of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, whose loving care allowed her to fulfill her wish to remain living in her home. Funeral Mass, Thursday, December 21 at 10am; St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 2208 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Anne Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach SPCA, or St. Michaels Lutheran Church are suggested.
Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
