Helen Dickerson

July 4, 1947 - January 24, 2022

Helen Baxter Dickerson was given life July 4, 1947 and passed peacefully January 24, 2022. Daughter of Edith and William Knight, she was preceded in death by her son David Christopher Dickerson. She is survived by her husband, Harold Dickerson; two sons, Adam (Betsy) and Brian; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Kaycee and Christopher Carson. She is also survived by brother Malcolm Knight (Charlene). Helen enjoyed working many years for the Chesapeake and Suffolk City Schools. She loved the Lord and loved attending church and teaching Bible study with her best friend, Penny Rotermund. Her beautiful soul will be missed. Fly high Helen, till we meet again.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, February 10 at 3:00 P.M. at Real Life Christian Church at 900 Centerville North Turnpike, Chesapeake, VA 23320.

I was in school with Helen, from 1st grade at Norfolk Highlands until graduation from Great Bridge. Helen was a great childhood friend and one of the smartest. A shining light for all. Condolences, thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. Helen was one of my friends when we both attended Great Bridge High School. We reconnected when I moved back to Chesapeake and we had monthly dinners with her cousin Susie Marconyak and Marie Kingsbury. Good times!
