Rudy was Army/ Navy veteran during Vietnam and later was employed as a Marine Electrician. He loved basketball, music, football and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Julius Whitmire and sister, Debbie Ellis.
Left to cherish the great memories of his life are his loving wife, Jennifer; children, Shelly Whitmire, Zachary Fanning, Kyrah Whitmire, Julia Whitmire and Maxwell Whitmire; his grandchildren, Kingston Harris and Carter Isaiah Fanning; sister, Paula; brother Herbert and a host of many beloved other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Mt. Zion Word and Faith Ministry, 601 E. Pembroke Ave., Hampton, VA 23667.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family or by pressing on “donate” at the top of the page.
Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family with arrangements.
