Jackie Roy Ford, Sr., 86, “Jack” passed away on September 26, 2023, in Virginia Beach. He was born in Norfolk, and was the son of the late Leroy Ford and Rose Forehand Ford. He was a car enthusiast, with a unique and friendly personality.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Catherine “Lynne” Ford; her identical twin sister, Elizabeth “Bette” Ford, his son Jackie Roy Ford, Jr. “Roy”; and his two daughters, Donna Ford Sullivan and Paula (Scott) Birdsong; niece, Carol (Rolland) Johnson, granddaughter, Leaha, grandson, Jack (Alyssa) and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Jean Marie Mundon and his identical twin brother, Jerry Lee Ford.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on October 7 at Chesapeake Church of Christ located at 1021 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322 at 11:00 a.m.

I did a google search on my granddad and found out today 11/07/23 that he passed on the internet. This is so heartbreaking to find out this way. My earliest and best childhood memories include my grandad. No one mentioned this to me or called me about this nor was my name mentioned as a grandchild. What a terrible misfortune to be born into this family.
