James A. Ryan (Jim) 95, died September 20, 2016. Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Jim enlisted in the US Army in 1942, proudly serving his country as a member of Company A 707th Battalion. He participated in the D-Day invasion and spent the remainder of WWII in France and Belgium, receiving several medals. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1946. Returning stateside, Jim graduated from Fordham University and received a MBA from Columbia University, becoming a successful banker associated with Chemical, Chase, and J.P. Morgan Banks. He relocated from Port Washington, NY to Virginia Beach with his wife after retiring. He is predeceased by his wife, Marion (Leonard). He is survived by his son Dr. Michael J. of Virginia Beach, daughter in law Katherine, grandchildren James and Christine; son John G. of Littleton, CO, and grandchildren Christopher, Steven and Daniel. A memorial will be held at a later date.
