James “Jim” Carlton Warren, 76, passed away on February 16, 2024, in Chesapeake, VA. Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota , Jim dedicated much of his life to serving his country as a proud Navy veteran. His career aboard various aircraft carriers as a machinist took him to many countries, enriching his love for travel and culture. Retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, he continued his commitment to naval service by working as a contractor in the Navy shipyards in Norfolk, VA.
Jim was not only a respected serviceman but also a cherished father, leaving behind two loving daughters. Known for his warmth and generosity, Jim was a pillar in his community, a beloved friend, neighbor, and family man. His kindness extended to all living creatures, especially rescue animals, which were a significant part of his life.
A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the humane society in honor of Jim’s love for animals.
Jim’s legacy of service, compassion, and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
