James F. “Jim” Daffron, Sr. died peacefully in his sleep October 13, 2024. Left to cherish his memory are his children Suzy Daffron Allen (Jonathan), James F. (Jim) Daffron, Jr., Tricia Daffron Chappell (Chip), and Tim Daffron (Denise). He is also survived by his grandchildren Adam, Kelli & David Daffron, Bud Chappell & Katherine Matthews, Mike Murray, Grayson, Clayton & Hannah Dare Daffron and Meyon Burns. He was also blessed with 9 Great Grandchildren.

Jim was predeceased in July by his beloved wife of 64 years Joan D. Daffron, as well as his parents Herman V. Daffron, Sr. & Helen Smith Daffron and brother Herman V. Daffron, Jr.

His family and friends are left with a legacy of treasured memories, an appreciation of all things tennis and a required devotion to the Washington Commanders who will be forever known as the Washington Redskins to Dad! Jim will be deeply missed by his family, countless friends, neighbors, and former colleagues. The family would also like to thank Jim’s caregivers for their devoted love and care.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 154 West Government Ave. Norfolk, Va 23503 Friday October 18, 2024 at 10:30am with reception at church social hall to follow. A private burial will be held at a later time.
