James (“Jim”) Arthur Stapleton, resident of Williamsburg, VA, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018 at the age of 88.
Jim was born on December 14, 1929 in Harlan County, KY to Bertha S. and Claude S. Stapleton, formerly of Jonesville, VA. He was a machinist and retired from Grapha Manufacturing in Newport News, VA.
He was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Williamsburg Christian Church, serving as their treasurer for many years. He cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed playing a good game of golf. He was dearly loved by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Florine Stapleton; four children, Bee Epperson of Barhamsville, VA, Sonny Stapleton (Kalani) of Williamsburg, VA, Sherry Johnson (Joe) of Charlotte, NC, and Ron Mills (Kathi) of Fleming Island, FL; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Thelma Canter, as well as many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Williamsburg Christian Church, 200 John Tyler Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
