James O. Simone Sr., 82, of Portsmouth passed away June 25, 2022. Cremation Society of Virginia (Chesapeake Office) is handling the arrangements.
You finally made it Pops
This is where your journey stops
You lived a good long life
You leave behind 3 children and a wife
You have done all you can do
SJ will be there for you
Waiting with open arms and a smile
Hey, Pops it’s been a while
Your body might not be here
And we will shed many a tear
But there is no reason to be sad
Now we reflect on the good times we had
All the things we did together
Those memories will last forever
In ’57 you found the love of your life
65 years together 62 as man and wife
Thru the ups and down good and bad
4 children and a ton of memories we had
Started in the Army at Fort Dix
Volunteer fireman than cars you would fix
Then in Virginia you would install carpet
The opportunity of a lifetime you would get
Going to work for Ford only to be let go
Back to the carpet business that you know
In ’88 you got the call back from Ford
Life changing Thank the Lord
You worked thru injury and heart attack
Every time you bounce right back
Until ’06 when you were able to retire finally
We were so grateful as a family
For you giving everything, you got
Pops we miss you a lot
All my life all I wanted to do
Was be half as good of a man as you
Hopefully I will when my journey stops
I owe it all to you and I love you Pops
