



James (Jim) Paul Zuraf, 70, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Born on September 15, 1954 in Buffalo, NY, Jim was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and uncle. He was a career optician, a beach lover, a fiercely loyal friend, and diehard Buffalo Bills fan. Jim had a big personality, complete with a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh. After retiring, Jim worked as a security guard, which allowed him to enjoy many concerts and sporting events. He also played Santa at the mall and at private Christmas celebrations.
Jim is survived by Susan, his beloved wife of 48 years, loving sons, Joseph and Richard, of Chesapeake, VA, brother, Thomas (Beth) of Knoxville, TN, brother in-law, Dave (Debbie), sister-in law, Carol (Brian), and nieces, Rebecca (Jim), Hillary (Nick), and Angela (Kevin) of Buffalo, NY, and Natalie and Jacqueline of Nashville, TN. Jim was preceded in death by his father Stanley, mother Lorraine, and brothers Paul and John (Jack).
A celebration of life in Jim’s honor will be held in Buffalo, NY at a later date.
