On March 21, 2020, James moved from his earthly home headed for the arms of his Heavenly Father. He was born to James and Edna Strider in 1933 in Troy, North Carolina.  James had a good soul and an infectious smile.  His favorite sport was “Golf”, favorite place was “Lake Mattamuskeet” N.C. and his favorite past-time was playing a lot of “Baseball”.  He served in the US Army in Korea and graduated from the NNS Apprentice School where he became a fine machinist.  He was predeceased by his parents and two step-sons, Dennis Wyatte and Greg Pletcher. He is survived by his wife Frances, a sister Patty (Steve) Ashby, step-son Jeff Pletcher and step-daughter Janice Wyatte and a number of grand-children, nieces and nephews.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he leaves his longtime friends.
