Janice Marie Mohr, a beloved member of the Virginia Beach community and a devoted lover of life, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in Ohio, Janice’s journey through life was marked by her vibrant spirit and her dedication to those around her.
Janice found immense joy in being an active participant in her community at Atlantic Shores, where she cherished the camaraderie and fellowship of Thank Goodness It’s Friday, affectionately known as TGIF. Her passion for the music of Jimmy Buffett and the relaxed Caribbean lifestyle reflected her love for all things joyful and celebratory. An ardent animal lover, Janice’s kindness extended to all creatures great and small.
Preceded in death by her husband, Navy Chief Petty Officer (Ret.) Donald R. Mohr, and her parents, James and Jeanne Foster. Janice is survived by her loving sons, Rick Mohr and Carl Mohr. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Jeff Foster, and his wife Karen, who will treasure her memory.
Services to honor and celebrate Janice’s life will be held at Atlantic Shores located at 1200 Atlantic Shores Drive, VA Beach, 23454 on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Janice will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Janice’s memory to the Virginia Beach SPCA, reflecting her lifelong love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
Janice’s legacy of love, laughter, and community spirit will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
