Janis Marie Hatcher crossed through the pearly white gates on April 2nd, 2020, at the age of 86. She was born July 21st, 1933 in Newport News Virginia. She was the daughter of Doris Jerome Bradley and Dorothy Louise Bradley. She attended Hampton High School where she graduated and went on to marry into the Baker family and traveled to Japan on orders from the military. She worked for Hampton City Schools for 10 years where she then retired. She attended church service at Light House and at Daffodil Gardens elderly community where she resided the last 14 years. She will be remembered for her love of nature, gardening, bird watching, traveling around the world, but most of all her love for her family. She is survived by her daughter Nannette G Holloway, nephew Jerome Bradley, 3 Grandchildren Brett M McArthur, Shana M McArthur, and James B Holloway, 5 Great granddaughters and 1 Great-grandson. She is predeceased by her father Doris Jerome Bradley and mother Dorothy Louise Bradley and her brother Jerome Bradley, her Aunt Polly, and her Great Granddaughter Kah’Niyah Rylie McArthur. No service will be held at this time due to the virus but the family will celebrate her life at a later date.
