Jean B. Warren, 89, of the Indian River area of Chesapeake, passed away on February 25, 2024. She was born in Greenford, Middlesex, a suburb of London, on May 15, 1934 to the late Kenneth Fredrick and Mary Agnes Ellen Elizabeth “Nancy” (née Allwood) Bartlett.
In 1953, Jean emigrated from England to the United States to marry Paul A. Warren, whom she met while he was in England serving with the United States Air Force. They had been married 59 years when Paul passed away. She always said how lucky she was to marry into the Warren family. Jean thought the USA was the greatest country in the world and became a citizen in 1966. She retired at age 77 from Naval Brig Norfolk, where she worked for 21 years.
In addition to her husband, Jean was also predeceased by her beloved son, Paul A. Warren, Jr.; great-grandson, Lincoln; step-mother, Violet Bartlett; step-brother, David Bush; and step-sister, Catherine Hamilton. She is survived by her much-loved sons and daughters-in-law: Ken and Karen, Mark and Vickie, and David; grandsons: Paul III (Dory), Kyle, Skylar (Kassandra), Matthew, and Noah; and great-grandson, Paul IV. She is also survived by Vickie’s daughters who were such a blessing to us, Elizabeth Lanier and Carolyn Kupper, her husband Eric, and their children: Eleanor, Amelia, and Abigail; and the many members of Red and Lillian’s family who were so dear to her heart. We would also like to extend special thanks to the Ward family for their care and support of our mother.
Per Jean’s wishes, services will be private and held at a later date.
