In memory of Jeffrey J. Stendel, 59, of Virginia Beach, VA.

March 26, 1957 to March 2, 2017

The loving husband and best friend of Renee H. Stendel of Virginia Beach, son of the late James Stendel and Geraldine Stendel, and brother of Jean Kemick. With his marriage to Renee 33 years ago, he became the best big brother possible of Debbie Hagy, Laura Griesbach and Shelly Murphy. He also leaves three nieces, Jackie, Jessica and Stephanie; three nephews, Michael, Eric and Patrick; two great-nephews Cameron and Gabe; a great-niece Sophia, and his devoted dog, Pepper.

Jeff was a private individual whose love and extensive knowledge of all things Star Trek, computers, music, movies and books along with his sharp mind and quick wit endeared him to those fortunate enough to know him. He proudly served as a drummer in the U.S. Army band and worked as a purchasing agent for private companies. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family thanks Tishara and Pam from Stay at Home Personal Care and the Medi Hospice team for their compassionate care and for easing the transition for Jeff and all who loved him. Sincere appreciation to Dr. Richard Sokol for his years of care and support. Appreciation to the Cremation Society of Virginia for assistance with honoring Jeff’s desires.

The family celebrated his life in a private gathering at home with the simplicity and humor that characterized his rich life.
